In the summer of 2023, the company started the implementation of an automated packaging system for lug caps. It will cover the entire cap packaging process: folding the carton, transporting it to the production facility, transporting the filled carton to the packing area, stacking the cartons on a pallet, preparing the pallet for transfer to the warehouse and transporting it to the storage area.
The initial project idea was discussed with automation solution companies from various European countries, but in the end we shook hands with a professional service provider that offered the most interesting solutions and was at the forefront of the industry with its innovation.
CEO Mantas Krugelis believes that the automation of the packaging process is a major leap forward: “First of all, it will give our employees the opportunity to develop, their work will create more value, and the likelihood of human error will be reduced. Maintenance technicians will gain new experience, knowledge and skills in the maintenance of complex and modern equipment. We are not only meeting our customers’ needs, but also keeping pace with the latest technology.”
“I will not shy away from the fact that even in our company there were sceptical colleagues who doubted whether it was possible to automate the entire packaging process,” says Edvardas Vysockis, Head of Maintenance. “But all doubts have been dispelled - today, modern equipment is already being installed in the storage area of the production hall and everyone admits that the sight is impressive. And the work has only just begun!”
The company plans to complete the installation of all the equipment for the automated packaging system at the turn of the year, start training our employees and, in 2024, turn over a new leaf in the company’s history by launching the first phase of a fully automated production process.
